Holiday Craft Market at Real Food Co-op

Elves!

These elves stand seven inches tall (not counting their pointy hats) and were crafted from felted wool sweaters. They are stuffed with wool fleece. The elves, along with other items I have handcrafted from felted sweaters, will be for sale at the Holiday Craft Market at Real Food Co-op in Chatham, on the day after Thanksgiving – Friday Nov. 26th. See you there!

ArtsWalk opens this evening in Chatham

This is the big weekend!

This year, ArtsWalk is in Chatham as well as in Hudson, NY. The Opening Party is from 6 to 9 PM at the Columbia County Fairgrounds on October 8th, with events and exhibits happening in many places throughout Chatham over the weekend. Shops on Main Street have donated their window space to local artists. My feathery work may be found in the window of Cow Jones Industrials, on Main Street in Chatham.

The event is sponsored by the Columbia County Council on the Arts. I will be at Opening Night, where I have an Otherworldly piece. I hope to see you there!

Autumn in the studio

Dry, brown oak leaves, clinging to a branch. A crow resting among them. These things have found their way into my studio this season.

And outside the window, there is a splash of red.

Current work: an order for a red stole.

And preparations for ArtsWalk, Oct. 8 – 10. I hope to see you at Opening Night at the Columbia County Fairgrounds.

Creativity Quote

‎”Creativity belongs to the artist in each of us. To create means to relate. The root meaning of the word art is “to fit together” and we all do this every day. Not all of us are painters but we are all artists. Each time we fit things together we are creating – whether it is to make a loaf of bread, a child, a day.” –Sister Corita Kent
